Romanian-American Mezzo-Soprano Nicoleta Roman has been a prominent member of the Romanian community in Chicago for over 23 years. She is fond of her Romanian heritage, constantly promoting her values through her voice.

Romanian-American Mezzo-Soprano Nicoleta Roman, born in Baia Mare, Romania, has been singing since the age of two. As an honor student since 1st grade, she completed studies of piano and bel canto. Due to her outstanding performances, she became the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards and continued her education at Transilvania Music Academy, while working at the Brasov Opera House.

Nicoleta participated in numerous representations of various Operas throughout Europe and the U.S. She earned a Vocal Performance degree from Roosevelt University in 2003. Since 2000, Nicoleta performed as a Lyric Artist of the CSO in hundreds of concerts at various venues, among which Carnegie Hall, New York, Pritzker Pavilion Millennium Park, Symphony Center Chicago. For the extraordinary performance of Verdi’s Requiem, the Chicago Symphony received the Grammy Award for Best Classical Album of the Year and another Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance of 2010.

Nicoleta loves to share her knowledge and love for music and arts with the next generation and has been enjoying being a music teacher &Vocal Coach for over 20 years. Mrs. Roman served as Music Director, award-winning talent manager, and collaborator of many Grammy Winning producers and composers.
