    Ā

    Short Description

From the earliest days of the war, we focused on supporting the people forced to flee from Ukraine. In addition to the punctual help provided at the border points and the NorthRailwayStation, we reactivated the call-center project, inspired by the one we developed during the Covid-19pandemic but adapted to current needs.

    Ā

    Details

Since March 10, the Call Center has received over 2000 Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian, and English calls. With dedicated mixed language teams, we directly solved the requests that came to us or forwarded the a solution to the authorities. The problems faced by those forced to leave the path of war are varied, such as transport/accommodation/public and private medical services/legislation and procedures for obtaining documents, employment or entering the education system, etc.

    Ā

    • We segregate data to help authorities properly assess the situation on the ground.
    • We mediate and resolve medium and long-term problems for people displaced because of the war in Ukraine to scale the efforts of the authorities and associations involved.
    • We partner with the authorities to maximize resources so that the support process is coherent and traceable.

    Starting Date: April 2022

    Financing: FinancedĀ

    Project Status:Ā In Development

    Financed Amount: $8,000

    Ā

RUF financed $8,000 out of $12,000 goal. Thank you for your support.

    Short Description

The Task Force mechanism will help provide qualitative information about the ongoing situation and the effects of the war and aid in managing the critical needs of the refugees, resources, and capacity of local authorities and support for the civil society in Ukraine and the Moldova Republic.

    Ā

    Details

On 24 Feb, our usual activities were put on hold, and we redirected all our resources on relaunching the Task Force to support the Ukrainian refugees fleeing the horrors of the war, but also to assist the Department of Emergency Situations and the Romanian Government in their endeavors to manage the
    humanitarian crisis.Ā

In less than eight weeks, we delivered 11 digital toolsĀ designed to improve Romaniaā€™s response to a humanitarian crisis of such dimensions. The first three tools of this ecosystem were up in just ten days and addressed the refugeesā€™ urgent needs:

    • Access to official information - dopomoha.ro is the go-to refugee resource and assistance platform, which offers information verified and validated by international refugee support organizations and local authorities. Our content creation and validation partners are the Romanian National Council for Refugees - CNRR, IOM Romania, the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), and UNHCR. All information on the platform is available in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and Romanian.
    • Resource and housing management - UnAcoperis.ro (One Roof) is the platform where refugees in need of accommodation can access places that have been checked and adapted to their special needs so that those fleeing the war stay safe.Ā
    • SprijinDeUrgenta.ro (Emergency Support) is a space where those who want to offer their help but do not know how can get in direct contact with those who need help. For resource allocation and procedures, we collaborate with the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), which access and coordinate the distribution effort according to the needs of the people who are now crossing the border in Romania. Both platforms are available in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and Romanian.

    Ā

We continue to work tirelessly to address the long-term needs that the Ukrainian migrants have during their unlimited stay in Romania. The financial support received will be directed to the development of new digital tools designed to ease access to:

    • medical services for chronic patients (UkraineChildCancerHelp and ConsiliereHIV are live)
    • education and integration
    • psychological assistance, especially for those affected by PTSD.

    Ā

At the same time, we continue to collaborate with the authorities and the NGO sector in Romania to consolidate this growing integrated digital ecosystem that will support the Romanian society in managing the effects of any future humanitarian crisis.

    Ā

    Short Description

The project aims to help free medical care refugees from Ukraine who will stay or are in transit in Romania and are sheltered in institutional or private refugee centers in Bucharest and its surroundings. We intend to prepare and urgently use 3 to 5 mobile units, the related medical staff (doctors and nurses), and the ambulance.

We intend to prepare and urgently use 3 to 5 mobile units, the related medical staff (doctors and nurses), and the ambulance. After the refugee crisis, the division thus established will continue to provide home medical services to underprivileged people. Benefiting from the Foundation's experience in similar projects, it will become an independent medical and social entrepreneurship project capable of providing up to 23.000 medical services per year, 30% provided to social patients (Ukrainians included).

    Ā

    Details

The project ā€œMobile Medical Careā€ will continue to provide medical assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Bucharest and its surroundings. Inovatii Sociale Foundation started with a small, equipped team that visited some refugee centers. We have noticed again that the need for medical assistance is enormous and that we were the only ones doing it. By connecting with all coordinators of the refugee centers, we were called each time someone felt sick and were in contact with the City Hall of Ilfov and Bucharest, DSU, and DGASMB (state social assistance).

Between March 10th and April 18, we visited over 325 patients in 13 centers (several times in some of them). Here we discovered a lot of dramatic cases where the situation could be fatal without our help. Some patients were at risk of death, and just because we were there and we noticed their condition, they had the chance to survive.Ā

    Our activities will include:

    • Medical assistance at the shelters to adults and children (consultation, ultrasounds, diagnosis, offering medications).
    • Help with hospital transfer.
    • Assistance with embassies (for Ukrainian citizens of other origins, primarily Jewish and Indian).

    The beneficiaries will:

    • heal their physical wounds
    • develop a foundation for emotional healing, develop a feeling of trust, and not be sick and lonely.
    • build a relationship of trust in the Romanian medical system and Romanian doctorsĀ
    • feel more at ease, cared for, and comfortable in the shelters.
    • those who want to stay and build their new life in Romania have the possibility of searching for jobs and finding their dignity and place in the society

    Short Description

The AID FOR REFUGEES project launched in the first days of March 2022, when families with children were fleeing the war to cross the border to Romania. More than 160 refugees who arrived in Bucharest received immediate support through the Foundation - accommodation in a partner hotel unit, three hot meals per day, social counseling, transport or transfers to the bus stations or airport, and individually personalized assistance as needed to each family. Some refugees continued their journey to other countries or found long-term solutions in Romania.

Starting in April, the AID FOR REFUGEES expanded to support the urgent or medium-term needs of refugee families with children, offering support to other NGOs working on the borders of Ukraine or implementing activities in other areas of the country. We also provide hosting, educational activities, and social counseling to a steady number of 70 refugees arriving in Bucharest, primarily mothers, children, and the elderly.

Hope for Ukraine. Power from All Fund, March 2022, $20,000

    Ā

    Funds Sources:Ā Ukrainian Peace Campaign

Project Name: Hope for Ukraine. Power from All Fund

Recipient Organization: Asociatia pentru Relatii Comunitare (ARC)

    Starting Date: March 2022

    Financing: FinancedĀ

    Project Status:Ā In Development

    Total Project Budget: $20,000

    Financed Amount: $20,000

    Ā

RUF financed $20,000 out of $20,000 goal. Thank you for your support.

    Ā

    Short Description

In March 2022, ARC launched " Hope for Ukraine. Strength from all ā€œFund and eight other organizations and federations to coordinate resources and funding for over 70 NGOs. The project's two main goals are to provide immediate support and relief to NGOs working directly with refugees and provide resources to cover housing costs, utility bills for refugee centers, and professionalization of staff dealing with refugees.

    Ā

    Details

Through this fund, ARC wants to take the fundraising pressure from the organizations present in the field. Romania cannot handle the urgent and specialized needs of the Ukrainian refugees. Although there was an incredible wave of generosity in the first weeks of the war, the NGOs working with refugees are overworked, burned out, and unpaid, and any strategic program doesnā€™t cover their costs. Most of the Ukrainian translators are volunteers, and many are students. This vital resource needs to be increased, empowered, and trained to deal with complex cases at the crossing or transit centers.

Thereā€™s a small number of social services officers. The state doesnā€™t have a proper strategy to increase its number, and those from the NGO sector canā€™t respond to all the present needs. The NGOs have created crisis centers to accommodate the Ukrainian refugees, but they struggle to cover the utility bills.

ARCā€™s fund will provide the vital relief these organizations need to be able to offer their services medium term. We want to ensure that their efforts wonā€™t endanger their stability or weaken their impact.
