Letters in Backpacks

Approximately 41% of children in Romania live in poverty, without a close family member or anyone else to care for them outside of the state system.

Hope 4 Kids in partnership with The Power of We Symposium and Asociatia Incluziunea from Onesti, Romania, set up to fill and deliver 200 backpacks filled with necessities to 200 children in the care of the Romanian state social system.

It costs an average of $25 to fill a backpack.

Each backpack will contain a hygiene kit (shampoo, shower gel, deodorant), sweets (chocolate, candy. Cookies), fruits (apple, orange, banana), pencil box (with eraser, pen, pencil, ruler, colored pencils, markers), coloring books, puzzle/ board games, notebook, key chain, fidget toy, balloons.

The children who will be receiving the backpacks are between the ages of 6 and 18, and they reside in one of the following centers in or around Bucharest, Romania: Center for Victims of Domestic Violence, The Department of Social Work of the Bucharest Municipality, Metropolis Foundation, Saint Sava General School.

By donating to fill a backpack, you show that you care, think of children in need, make them happy, and believe in the power of giving.

Our effort might not solve the systemic nature of poverty. What it does, is give hope to the children receiving the backpacks, knowing that someone, somewhere, is thinking of them.
