Grants play a pivotal role in project funding for organizations, especially non-profits and community-based groups. They offer financial support, enabling these entities to execute projects, initiatives, and programs that align with their missions and benefit the communities they serve. With the DRP budget increasing 20-fold from 2021 to 2023, to roughly 300 million dollars, DRP has emerged as one of the main funding sources for nonprofit organizations and Romanian community projects all around the world.
The intent of this document is to share our experience at the Romanian United Foundation regarding our recent application for funding through the DRP. In our opinion, the DRP grant application process is complex, expensive, at times gruelingly difficult, and carries significant risks, but it can be navigated, and it is definitely worthwhile for any nonprofit organization that has the time, financial resources, and ability to implement impactful projects that align with the DRP guidelines.
