Jen Wieczner and Flaviu Simihaian are proud Founding Angels of the Romanian United Foundation based in New York City, dedicated to empowering the global Romanian diaspora and driving sustainable growth in Romania. Originally from Năsăud, Transylvania, Flaviu is a serial healthcare technology entrepreneur who builds bridges between tech economies by splitting the operations of his software ventures between New York and Cluj-Napoca, while also serving as an Endeavor Romania Fellow to mentor early-stage startup founders in his home country. Jen is an award-winning business journalist and features writer for New York Magazine, who has embraced the Romanian community alongside her husband. Together, they champion impactful cultural, educational, and philanthropic initiatives—such as supporting the Via Transilvanica heritage trail—to preserve Romanian heritage and foster opportunities for future generations.
