• Funky Citizens: On election day, their team, volunteers, and observers work tirelessly, coordinating the activities of independent observers in polling stations and assisting citizens with inquiries or reports of electoral violations. Their goal is to mobilize 2,000 observers across both election rounds. A €10,000 fund will cover kits for all observers.
• Rădăuțiul Civic: They plan to organize at least five workshops in Rădăuți high schools on "Critical Thinking and Disinformation" for students aged 18 or nearing adulthood. Additionally, they'll run a two-month online and offline campaign, including street displays, to raise awareness about AI-generated disinformation prevalent on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Declic: As Romania approaches the May 2025 Presidential Elections, the electorate faces challenges like misinformation and the rise of extremist ideologies. Declic proposes a series of six focused episodes of “Știrea Zilei cu Declic” on their YouTube channel, aiming to:
  • Provide in-depth analyses of each presidential candidate's background, political agenda, and strategy.
  • Investigate and expose the origins, rhetoric, and impacts of extremist currents within the political landscape.
  • Offer ironic commentary and on-the-ground reactions to present a comprehensive view of the upcoming elections.

Lights on Democracy is a campaign initiated by RDFN (Romanian Diaspora Funding Network) with the primary goal of raising at least €30,000 for these three organizations championing democracy in Romania. The funds will be utilized to monitor the May 2025 presidential elections, address issues and ambiguities, and provide accurate information to citizens.
