My name is Șerban Robert, and I am the President of the Association for the Priority Support of Institutionalized Children in Romania. I am a professional social worker, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, and I have dedicated my entire career to supporting children and young people in vulnerable situations.
For more than three years, I have founded and coordinated this association, whose main goal is to respond to the real needs of abandoned children, orphans, adopted children, and those in the special protection system of the Romanian state — children who, unfortunately, have experienced and continue to experience profound traumas and unimaginable hardships. We also support children coming from families severely affected by medical, social, and economic difficulties.
The mission of the Association for the Priority Support of Institutionalized Children is to protect and promote the rights of children and young people in Romania, offering them a genuine chance for a better life, access to education, healthcare, and a dignified standard of living.
Currently, we aim to develop a major project: the acquisition or construction of an extensive property, with adjoining land, where we can offer vulnerable children and young people a stable home, educational support, medical assistance, community social services, psychological counseling and psychotherapy, vocational training courses, legal counseling and assistance, including representation before national and international institutions and courts of law. In essence, we aspire to build a true “warm home” where every child can rediscover dignity, hope, and confidence in their own potential.
To bring this vision to life, we require substantial financial support, both for acquiring or constructing the property and for covering the salaries of specialized professionals (social workers, psychologists, lawyers, attorneys), as well as for securing the necessary materials for all activities.
