My name is Kelly Horst and Iβm reaching out from American Councils for International Education, a nonprofit organization that facilitates U.S. Department of State-supported international exchange programs.
We are currently seeking host families for exceptional high school exchange students arriving for the upcoming academic year, including several students from Romania. These students are selected through highly competitive, merit-based programs. They are proficient in English, academically motivated, and excited to experience life in the United States while sharing Romanian culture and traditions with their host families and local communities.
We would be so grateful if you would consider sharing this opportunity with your members, newsletter, or broader community network. Hosting an exchange student is a meaningful way to support cultural exchange, global education, and people-to-people diplomacy.
By hosting, families can:
β’ Welcome a student into their home and community
β’ Support a student as they attend an American high school and participate in extracurricular activities
β’ Share American traditions, holidays, and everyday life while learning about Romanian culture firsthand
Host families are volunteers and are not financially compensated, as students participate on J-1 Exchange Visitor Visas through U.S. Department of State-sponsored programs. Students arrive with their own spending money and health insurance, while host families provide a supportive and welcoming home environment.
