The Resource Centre for Public Participation (CeRe) was set up in 2006, based on the belief that public decisions must be taken in a participatory way. We have a solid expertise in advocacy and policy making, community organizing, coalition building, facilitation and community engagement.

In moving towards achieving our goal, we are:

• running community organizing and advocacy campaigns - we help citizens and NGOs to get organized and advocate for the issues of their communities. Whether it's about a park that needs to be refurbished, or about a law that needs to be improved, we support groups to better communicate with the decision-makers and make their concerns heard. 
• monitoring and holding accountable local authorities - we advocate for transparency and for space for participation, so that the state institutions keep their doors open for citizens. 
• protecting civic space through coalition building - we facilitate a large coalition of NGOs defending the civic space: freedom of association, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly are our main concerns.
• facilitating learning opportunities through national and international exchanges,  for activists and practitioners so that a good body of knowledge is available to Romanians.
• showcasing and supporting grassroots advocacy efforts through our annual Public Participation Gala.
