De Basm – the Association of Authors for Children’s and Young Adult Literature in Romania is a non-profit organization that aims to provide an institutional framework in which the creators of children's literature can meet, reflect and create together.

De Basm aims:

- to promote contemporary national literature for children in schools in Romania, within communities, and also internationally;

- to develop projects to help build and dynamize the internal book market;

- to support authors of children's literature;

- to facilitate dialogue between publishers, illustrators, librarians, print houses, authors and readers;

- to facilitate the dissemination of contemporary literature among children and parents in culturally disadvantaged areas;

- to engage in partnerships and collaboration with institutions and individuals, in order to promote national and international books for children and young adults;

- to encourage the debate on the role of children’s literature.
