About the event
This spring, the people behind Via Transilvania - The road that unites - are touring the US, and on May 22 they stop at ROCO in Chicago, and also several major cities with a documentary film exploring the vision, challenges, and meaning behind creating Romania’s long-distance trail.
The film caravan offers the Romanian diaspora in the US a special opportunity to discover the story behind Via Transilvanica on the big screen, presented by Alin Ușeriu, founder of the project, who brings the spirit of this remarkable initiative closer to Romanian communities across America.

Why we love Via Transilvanica
Via Transilvanica crosses Romania for over 1,400 km, from the beautiful monasteries of Bucovina to the banks of the Danube. Along the way, it passes through 7 historical regions, 10 counties and more than 400 communities, and by 8 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Via Transilvanica was built by the NGO Tășuleasa Social with the help of thousands of volunteers and donors. Every kilometer is marked by a hand-carved stone milestone weighing about 260 kg. The Romanian United Foundation was one of the trail’s early supporters, and our community has helped fund it since 2019. Every kilometer walk brings tourists into amazing villages with stories meant to be heard and seen.
✨ See you in Chicago at Via Transilvanica USA Tour!
