RUF Youth Board Selection Criteria
Eligibility
Age Requirement: Nominees must be between 14 and 18 years old.
Romanian Diaspora Connection: Nominees should be part of the Romanian diaspora or have a strong connection to the Romanian community.
Community Involvement: Active participation in community service, volunteering, or other community-related activities.

Academic Achievement:
Consistent academic performance.

Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated leadership in school, community, or extracurricular activities.
Ability to motivate and inspire peers.
Examples of initiatives or projects led by the nominee.
Commitment to Community Service:
Active involvement in community service projects or volunteer work.
Demonstrable impact of the nominee’s contributions on the community.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience in public speaking or representing groups.
Cultural Engagement:
Participation in activities that promote Romanian culture and heritage.
Efforts to preserve and share Romanian traditions within the diaspora community.
Innovation and Creativity:
Examples of creative problem-solving in school or community projects.
Ability to bring new ideas and perspectives to the board.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Experience working effectively as part of a team.
Ability to collaborate with diverse groups and individuals.
Personal Statement:
A compelling personal statement explaining the nominee’s motivation for joining the RUF Youth Board.
Clear articulation of how the nominee plans to contribute to the board’s mission.
Recommendations:
Letters of recommendation from teachers, community leaders, or mentors.
Testimonials highlighting the nominee’s strengths and potential.
Resume:
A comprehensive resume detailing academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and any relevant work experience.
Submission Requirements
Completed nomination form.
Personal statement by the nominee.
Nominee’s resume.
Recommended: one to two letters of recommendation.
Evaluation Process
Initial Screening: Review of all submitted materials to ensure eligibility and completeness.
Evaluation by Education Board: Detailed evaluation of each nominee based on the selection criteria.
Interviews: Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview to further assess their suitability.
Final Selection: The Education Board will make the final selection based on overall merit and fit with the RUF Youth Board’s mission and goals.
Important Dates
Nomination Deadline: March 30th (annually).
Notification of Selection: May 1st (annually).
Board Term Start Date: June 1st (annually).
