Short Description:

Each year, Romanian-American children and teens in Silicon Valley organize a community bake sale to support Asociația Magic (MagiCAMP Association), with Romanian United Foundation facilitating the transfer of proceeds as a pass-through grant directly to MagiCAMP's programs. Over six editions, this youth-led effort has raised $6,000, engaging the future diaspora generation and connecting them to their home country through meaningful giving.

Details:

Since 2021, Romanian-American youth in Northern California, in collaboration with Casa Română and RUF, have organized an annual community bake sale to support Asociația Magic, with 100% of proceeds donated via RUF as a transparent pass-through.

At the 6th edition, held at the Casa Română picnic in September 2025, eight children and teens (ages 5–17) raised $1,000 in three hours, showing how young members of the diaspora can actively contribute to social causes in Romania.

The partnership model brings together Casa Română as the host and local coordinator, families as mentors, and RUF as the fiscal partner and steward, transforming a simple bake sale into a recurring platform for civic engagement, service learning, and connection to the home country. The 2025 funds are directed to MagicHOME and MagiCARE, covering 20 nights of accommodation for parents of hospitalized children and 15 festive care packages that offer comfort and hope during the holiday season.
