Romanian United Foundation Urges Romanians to Vote and Honor the Legacy of Democracy

Chicago, November 27 – JOIN US AND VOTE!

Romanian United Foundation calls on all Romanians to actively participate by voting to uphold democratic values in the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.

RUF’s mission is to promote active citizenship and democratic participation, essential pillars of Romania’s progress within the European Union and NATO.

In December 1989, brave Romanians sacrificed their lives to end decades of oppression, paving the way for democracy and the freedoms we hold dear today. Their courage is a powerful reminder that democracy is not guaranteed - it is a legacy we must actively preserve.

As a committed nonprofit, RUF upholds a non-political stance, rooted in North-Atlantic principles and a pro-European vision for Romania. By voting, we honor the sacrifice of those who fought for our democracy and ensure Romania continues its path of democratic growth within the EU and NATO.

RUF emphasizes that the Romanian Parliament, as the foundation of democratic governance, plays a critical role in safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining economic prosperity and social balance. It is only through an informed and engaged electorate that the Parliament can truly represent the diverse and responsible leadership Romania needs.

Every single vote matters! RUF urges all eligible citizens to learn about the electoral process, make informed decisions, and exercise their fundamental right to vote!

The Romanian parliamentary elections on December 1 and the presidential runoff on December 8 offer an opportunity for Romanians worldwide to reaffirm their commitment to democracy.
