Celebrating Our Incredible RUF Volunteers

At Romanian United Foundation, our mission is powered by the extraordinary dedication and passion of our volunteers. These are the individuals who selflessly give their time and talents to make a difference, bringing us closer to our goal of uplifting Romanian communities worldwide. Today, we’re proud to introduce two amazing volunteers whose journeys and contributions embody the spirit of RUF.

Anca Opriș Beek: From Cluj-Napoca to the Netherlands and Back to Her Roots

Originally from Cluj-Napoca, Anca Opriș Beek has called the Netherlands home for the past 14 years. Yet, as she puts it, she still carries a piece of Romania in her heart. “After mastering the art of navigating among hundreds of bicyclists and savoring the rare sunny days, I took the plunge this year to step back from my role as a business analyst and return to my true passion: marketing and communication” she says.

Anca recently joined the Subcommittee for Marketing and Communications at GlobalRomania Health – Copăceni, where she applies her creativity and expertise to make a meaningful impact. In addition, she has taken on the important role of coordinating the development of the GlobalRomania website, a vital tool for connecting and informing the community. “It’s an honor to be part of such a wonderful community of Romanians,” she shares, radiating the warmth and enthusiasm that make her an incredible addition to the RUF family.

Aldina Gheorghe: Building Bridges for Change in Romania

Aldina’s commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring. As part of RUF’s GlobalRomania Partnerships and Institutional Liaison projects, she plays a key role in initiatives that strengthen Romanian communities worldwide. Based in Romania, Aldina has also founded two impactful associations - one focused on raising awareness about allergies and the other supporting children with dyslexia. Through her leadership and fundraising efforts, she is dedicated to creating opportunities for vulnerable communities, demonstrating her unwavering passion for positive change.
