This summer, give your child the opportunity to explore the spectacular landscapes of the Semenic Mountains at Semenic Explorer Youth Camp. Designed for young adventurers who love nature and outdoor challenges, this camp combines adventure sports, creative workshops, and team activities in a safe and inspiring environment.

Set in the beautiful mountain region of Semenic, participants will spend six days discovering nature, building confidence, and forming friendships through a variety of outdoor and cultural experiences.

About The Camp

Camp Semenic Explorer is located at an elevation of 1,400 meters, and is hosted at Gasthaus Wallner, the highest lodge in the Semenic-Caras Gorge National Park. With stunning views of Semenic Peak (1,447 m) and the Tarcu Mountains (2,189 m), it provides a safe and cozy mountain experience.

The program blends adventure, creativity, and teamwork through a variety of exciting activities:

• Gymnastics and movement workshops 🤸‍♀️

Each activity is designed to help participants develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience while having fun in nature.

Cost & Registration

✔ Camp Fee: $725 per child 
✔ Includes: Lodging, meals, activities, guided excursions, and trained instructors

TRANSPORTATION:

• Not included in cost (assistance available for carpools)
• Parents can organize carpools to transport children, or we can organize bus transportation for extra cost if necessary.

HOUSING:

• In a small housing setting of Gasthaus Wallner
• 2-3 children in one room

FOOD:

• 3 meals a day
• Advise of any allergies!
• Snacks between meals

SLEEP HOURS:

• 8 am wake up time
• 10 pm bedtime (quiet time)
• if tired, can go to bed earlier

ELECTRONICS:

• 1 hour at dinner, usually between 7 and 8 pm (this time may be modified, but will advise if such), can call parents at this time, otherwise no electronics.

GROUPINGS:

• approx. 7-10 kids per group, by age, with 1 instructor per group, groups based on age, or distinction of capability and experience, depending on activity.

Passionate Outdoor Enthusiast & Camp Leader

Robert Wallner is the heart and soul behind Camp Semenic Explorer. A dedicated adventurer, outdoor educator, and nature conservationist, Robert has spent years exploring and preserving the Semenic-Caras Gorge National Park. His deep connection to nature, combined with a passion for teaching, led him to create this one-of-a-kind summer camp where children can discover the magic of the great outdoors in a safe, exciting, and inspiring environment.

Why Did Robert Create Camp Semenic Explorer?

Growing up surrounded by Romania’s wild landscapes, Robert developed an early love for hiking, survival skills, and environmental conservation. He wanted to share these experiences with the next generation, fostering an appreciation for nature while building resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills in young adventurers. Through his work at Gasthaus Wallner, the highest lodge in Semenic-Caras Gorge National Park, Robert has transformed the area into a hub for adventure, exploration, and learning. His expertise in outdoor survival, team-building activities, and adventure sports makes him the perfect guide for young explorers looking to experience the wild in a fun and structured way.
