The Romanian community in Chicago hosted an exciting and much-anticipated event. In its 2nd edition, the event brought together over 200 community members to discuss important topics focused on education, community, and business. The Romanian Summit was a day full of insightful discussions and valuable networking opportunities made possible thanks to 45 partner organizations, 23 sponsors, 50 local businesses, and over 60 volunteers.

One of the key highlights of the event was the discussion about the Visa Waiver Program, a topic of great importance to the Romanian-American community. Experts and community leaders addressed the latest developments and explored further engagement opportunities in this area.

We are honored to announce that His Excellency, Andrei Muraru, Ambassador of Romania to the United States, was one of the esteemed keynote speakers at the Romanian Summit. His presence undoubtedly provided valuable insights and perspectives on Romanian-American relations and the importance of community integration and representation.

Additionally, we were delighted to have Fabrice Bonvoisin, President of the International Trade Club of Chicago, as a guest. Mr. Bonvoisin shared his expertise on Romanian-American integration and discussed ways the community can strengthen its position in the local business landscape.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency Jim Rosapepe, and attorney Dana Bucin, Honorary Consul of Romania in Connecticut, were also present at the discussions.

Individual sessions addressing education, community, and business delved into specific and relevant topics, offering participants valuable and useful information. These sessions brought together experts, opinion leaders, and community members to discuss challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions. The Romanian Summit also included roundtable sessions, giving participants the opportunity to delve deeper into a variety of topics. These focused on strengthening communication within the Romanian-American community, actively engaging youth through a dedicated workshop, exploring the potential of artificial intelligence, and promoting a vibrant and united community rooted in heritage and identity, with the help of young community leaders.

This event proved to be a platform for meaningful discussions, networking, and collaboration, ultimately promoting a stronger and more united Romanian community in Chicago.
