My name is Andreea, and I moved to the U.S. from Romania to attend high school. I recently completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Washington University in St. Louis, where I’m now continuing my postdoctoral research. My work focuses on designing and fabricating advanced microfluidic systems for applications in renewable energy, biotechnology, and the life sciences. With over five years of experience leading multidisciplinary research projects and developing innovative engineering solutions, I’m passionate about using science and technology to drive meaningful change. Just as importantly, I’m deeply committed to supporting fellow Romanians pursuing education and careers abroad. I believe in the power of mentorship and community, and I’m excited to contribute to RUF’s mission and help strengthen our global Romanian network.
