🎥 About the Film
Between 1948 and 1951, following the rise of communism in Romania, hundreds of university students who resisted the regime were imprisoned in what became known as the Pitești Prison. Under the guise of “re-education,” they were subjected to extreme psychological and physical torture in an effort to erase identity, faith, and dissent.
Directed by Victoria Baltag, Experimentul Pitești captures this dark chapter with emotional intensity and a commitment to truth. The film is both a tribute to those who suffered and a warning for future generations.
