In Person Meet & Greet Session

Wednesday, September 28, 2022, 5:30 PM CST

Bring your kids and enjoy a fun and relaxed discussion about this class.

ZOOM LINK HERE

Forget anything you've heard about programming - this is the COOL class, the BEST class, the FUN class! It doesn't matter who you are or where you're joining us from, this class is AWESOME. This is a fast rhythm, learn-as-much-as-you-can type of class, intensive but extremely enjoyable.
Don't believe us? See for yourself: play the game we created together (in class) on Khan Academy (only runs on a computer).

In this class, we're creating actual games. Games that you and I can play, games that could sell for $1 on the Apple Store (almost). Be careful parents, this is addictive. And one last word of advice: bring a friend in (preferably the same age), it's WAAAY more fun when you do it with your best buddies.

Class Dates

Every Wednesday, 5-6PM CST

Previous Class: Fall 2022

Previous Classes: March 2020, Fall 2020

27 children started our March 2020 Module. By the end of the first 12 lessons, there were all able to draw, and some were able to do basic animations.

After a little over two months, with just a little help, the kids were able to create their own little game. Play our game on Khan Academy, and keep an eye on our Youtube channel for the latest version.

  • There are no prerequisites for this class, we start teaching Javascript from scratch, so every child can enjoy it.

  • Currently (starting in 2022), there is a $100 registration fee for all RUF classes. The actual classes and other programs are offered free to RUF members (become a member).

Everyone is welcome to join RUF as a member. This being said, if you do not wish to become a member, a $600 donation per child is recommended for all 3 modules. We have evaluated many other computer classes priced $1,000 and above, and we strongly believe our class exceeds everything else we've seen. Based on comparable classes offered in the United States, we estimate the value of the full class (all 3 modules) to be at at least $1,200.

  • We learn how to create computer games using Javascript on Khan Academy. This is a fast rhythm, learn as much as you can type of class, extremely enjoyable, but intensive

  • Both teachers are passionate, experienced programmers, with many years of experience. Eli has been teaching this class for over one year, he has a degree in Math & Computer Science from Washington University and he is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who would love to learn more about these topics. Mihai has been studying computers since second grade and has taught this class several times. As a student, he won multiple awards at the National Olympiad in Computers Science in Romania.

  • A laptop or desktop is required, preferably a newer version (otherwise it will be slow). No apps are required, everything is within a browser (Chrome, Safari, Mozilla). IPads will not work.
