Nicole Mincu is currently a University of Illinois at Chicago graduate student pursuing a career in the public health field.

My educational background is in biology and psychology, and I am a current University of Illinois at Chicago graduate student pursuing a career in the public health field. I completed two years of AmeriCorps service after graduating from Syracuse University, which helped me grow both in personal and professional ways. These experiences bolstered my passions of being in service to others and contributing efforts towards progressive change, whether this occurs at an individual or community-wide level.

I have acquired a wide range of personable, professional and technical skills from my education and employments, which I value greatly. I engage new opportunities with an open mind, which has granted me the ability to adapt with ease, and I welcome constructive criticism to ensure quality in the work I do.

As someone who tends towards holistic and large-scale thinking, I am fascinated by the intersection of the various public health areas of interest. My centered interests are mental health, housing, and refugee resettlement, as well as working with undeserved populations such as women, youth, and LGBTQ+ communities. I believe the powerful union of creativity and cooperation are the building blocks of strong foundations of progress; regardless of where my career takes me, these are the prioritized elements I aspire to work with.
