About 

United Way Romania’s activities are based on the “Live United” principle, founded on the certitude that, together, relevant actors and community members can contribute to a better life for everyone: quality education leads to a stable job, provides a decent income that can support a family and a good health.

Our main programs in education are Learn to Succeed and Nesting a Brighter Future. They involve all decisive factors in a child’s development (parents, teachers, key-members of the community, volunteers) to work together to solve the school abandonment, which is not a child issue, but a community one. When a child goes to school, the chance to succeed is not only his, but reflects the entire community.

Through our health projects, children, youth, adults and elderly with serious health problems receive medical care at home and the social palliative care (pain control, psychological counseling for patients and their families) in residential centers or at hospital. We offer a dignified life to alone, elderly people, to patients suffering from serious illness and people with disabilities.

Our On the road to self-reliance program is a model of integrated approach that empowers people to get on stable financial ground with proven methods like job training, financial wellness classes and more. The result is thriving communities where everyone has more opportunities to succeed.
